MULTISTOREY
Art Direction and Graphic Design.
AV Festival.
Branding/ Event Art Direction.

AV Festival is the UK's largest digital arts festival. Multistorey were commissioned to re-brand the AV festival and design all the promotional material for the 2006 event. They needed to broaden the audience and make the event appeal to more than just the 'die- hard digital geeks'.
I think the AV logo is especially successful using the two capitalised letters which are close fitting shapes and are further simplified into arrow heads. The logo works as readable letterforms as well as resembling play/rewind and volume up/down icons.

NIKE

Nike's re-release of its original runners range (Cortez, Daybreak, Elie and Oregon waffle soled running shoes) encapsulated within an ultra old school runners magazine. Both the shoes and the free promotional magazine are made to feel as though they are truly 30 years old.

NIKE

Nike commissioned London studio Intro to design the in-store graphics from four metre high window displays, right down to shoe hang tags. These images take inspiration from the off season training activities of four basketball stars ( Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dirk Novitzki and Pau Gasoi) featuring rowing, fencing, even a lion and a horse (to represent animal detirmination- Eye of the tiger etc).

London 2012 logo. Designed to appeal to todays 'internet generation' and with a large price tag it has been shrouded in controversy and described as being childish and tacky, besides the date the logo itself it doesn't attempt to reference anything of significance.

However, I think that its recognisable, brash character has potential and considering that it will be 'evolving' through out the run up to the event it could be quite successful. Wolff Olins the agency behind the original logo commissioned this short video to 'release the energy contained within the emblem' designed by Matt Pyke's Univeral Everything.
