AV Festival is the UK's largest digital arts festival. Multistorey were commissioned to re-brand the AV festival and design all the promotional material for the 2006 event. They needed to broaden the audience and make the event appeal to more than just the 'die- hard digital geeks'.
I think the AV logo is especially successful using the two capitalised letters which are close fitting shapes and are further simplified into arrow heads. The logo works as readable letterforms as well as resembling play/rewind and volume up/down icons.
